“I think all three books are excellent with a fast pace and exciting
plots and good endings to keep the reader eager to finish the Legacy. They
definitely need more publicising as none of my friends have read them!” |
|
Hannah
Tindall (11-15)
“I found this book impossible to put down. I bought it from
England, but as I live in Germany, I couldn't buy the next two. I
read this on the first evening that I got it, I stayed up way past normal
so I could finish it. When I finished I wanted to get the next book
immediately, but I couldn't,
as we didn't go to the bookshop for the rest of our stay and I couldn't
find it in the others we visited. I read and re-read The Forging of
the Sword until I could recite it word from word. The ending left me
drooling for more, and I couldn't wait to get the next one.” |
|
George
Barker (11-15)
“I think that the first book was amazing!! It was brilliant how Mark
Robson described the great battle between Calvyn and Derrmar. All in all
it was 5/5!!”

Nita
Hodges (21+)
“I have read the first book and it was fantastic. I Will be ordering
the next one soon. I bought it from Mark at an airshow last year (My
book is signed!) Well done, Mark.”
|

James
Green (10-12)
“I have just finished 'The Forging of the Sword'. I received a
signed copy of it for Christmas and started reading it straight away.
After I had read the first page I found it impossible to put down. I went
and bought the rest immediately and have just started reading 'The Trail
of the Huntress'. I think Mark Robson is a brilliant author and can't wait
to read the rest of his books”
|
|
Edward
Martin (13-15)
“I bought the first two books of the Darkweaver Legacy from Mark at
an Airshow in 2001. I have lent them to a couple of friends since
then and they loved the books. Therefore, I have only just finished
the first one and found I had to start the "Trail of the
Huntress" immediately. I loved the description and all the
action and can't wait to finish "Trail of the Huntress"
so I can start on "First Sword". Thanks for
recommending your own books Mark.”

Bill
White (10-12)
“The Forging of the Sword is a great book! It has super
description and its the best book I have ever read. I think it
deserves 100% and 10/10. Anyone who rates a book better than this
one is mad!”
|
|
Dominic
Gray (13-15)
“I bought The Forging Of The Sword before Christmas at at Ottakars
in Milton Keynes. Mark approached us at the door, we had a chat and he
offered to sign a book for me. I agreed, wondering what I had got
myself into. I need not have worried as The Forging Of The Sword is the
best book
I've read since Lord Of The Rings. I found it full of action and plot
twists. I read until about 1:30 in the morning. I would
strongly recommend it to anyone, even if you have no interest in fantasy”
|
|
Andrea
Barratt (13-15)
“I have only read the 1st book but I thought it was excellent.
I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to read the next one. I also
think it could use some more publicity, as I had never heard of Mark
Robson until my mum brought me the book for Christmas.”
|
|
Simon
(13-15)
“I bought my copy from Mark at the summer fete of my last school in 2001, so it's signed. My parents were reluctant to buy me the second one along with it, even though I knew it would have been good to get both. I really enjoyed reading it, and as soon as I'd finished, I got the second one. When I had finished I was really sad, because the third one had not been out yet. After three years I had remembered not being able to get the third one, and after having re-read both found that the bookshop only had books one, two and four, but not three! I'm frustrated because I really want to find out what happens next. AAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!.”

“A great book - incredible plot and storyline. It mixes magic with military training in an incredible
way!”

"I thought the Trail of the Huntress was a very good book that I
found hard to put down.
I have not yet read First Sword and I am dying to read it. If any
one asks for a good book to read I would highly recommend these books.
I can't wait to read the next one"
|
|
| Marianne
Bretta (11-15)
"Trail of the Huntress is
one of the best fantasy books I have
read. It is up with Tolkien and Terry Pratchett and Tamora Pierce (this
is a
BIG compliment for me) I love all the original ideas like Warders of the
Keys and people being able to go inside rocks. I can't wait for the next
one!!"
|
|
Hannah
Tindall (11-15)
"After reading the first
book, I was left wanting more, but if I thought that The Forging of the
Sword was exciting then I hadn't anticipated what was to come.
Following Jenna on her adventure was exciting, as I never knew what was
coming around the next corner. Perdimonn was cleverly woven into the
plot, and Calvyn's change was unexpected and unusual. At first the
story-line was hard to follow, but that's just me, as I am very weird.
But, once I had read it for the second time, I got the drift and really
enjoyed it. At the end I was left wanting to read the next one even
more than I was at the end of book one."
|
|
George
Barker (11-15)
“I think that the second book was great, because of Mark's
brilliant run up to the fight with the Govath which of course, was
spectacular! All in all 4/5!”
|
|
Tim
Cooper (10-12)
“I found this book by accident as me and my twin sister met Mark
Robson in Hammicks in Cheltenham. He signed our copies of 'Forging
of the Sword' and 'Trail of the Huntress'. This was 2 years
ago and I finally started reading them and I couldn't put it down they
were so good!”
|
|
James
Green (10-12)
“Well done Mark! Trail of the Huntress was even better than the
first one in my opinion. I think the final battle was described really
well, as was the slaying of the Govarth. The whole book had me on
tender-hooks and I just could not put it down. I would give it a smashing,
well deserved 10/10!”

“I found this book by accident when me and my twin sister met Mark
Robson in Hammicks in Cheltenham. He signed our copies of 'The
Forging of the Sword' and 'Trail of the Huntress'. That was years ago and
I took ages to get to read them. When I did I couldn't put them
down. I have read them twice now and have loaned them to a friend who is
loving them as much as I do.”

|
Daniel (10-12)
“This book is extremely entertaining with a lot of twists and turns of fortune. I think it is the best book in the series and it is my favourite
book.”

"I thought this book was amazing! I will recommend the whole series
to all of my friends! The plot kept me interested the whole of the way
through and I was on the edge of my seat because it was so exciting! The
cliff hanger ending has made me eager to read the fourth book, I can't
wait." |
|
Abii
(11-15)
"I would just like to say that all three books were of a great
imaginative quality, and that I cannot wait to read the fourth book. I
really enjoyed First Sword. I have read all three books and Mark Robson is
an inspiration." |

Hannah
Tindall (11-15)
"I found the title
intriguing and after having read the first two books, I was eager to carry
on with the story. I found it really sad that Jez died, I think that
if he had lived, I might not have cried. The ending was really good
leaving me waiting for the fourth. And I'm still waiting. I can't
wait for it. I liked it when Calvyn was made a knight, though the
story-line was so good I forgot until I read it from the beginning again.
When Jenna and Calvyn got together it was really good, as it had been
building up for a long time. I can't wait for the fourth one, so
please hurry up and publish it." |
|
George
Barker (11-15)
“I think that book 3 in the Darkweaver Legacy is the best in the
series with action, romance, sorcery and magic. All in all 5/5!! ”
|
|
Joe (11-15)
“I have read all the books - they are absolutely fabulous. Once I
started reading them I couldn't put them down"
|
|
AJ (11-15)
“I think that First Sword is by far the best of the three so far but
as the story progresses the plot gets thicker and of course the stories
indeed get better. I think Mark Robison's fantasy/fiction books are a
work of pure talent and imagination and have not read something as good
since Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings"
|
|
Charlotte Cook (13-15)
“The third book was great because there was romance in it with Jenna
and Calvyn. The best bit with the romance is when they are both in the
Academy"
|
|
Susi Stacy (21+)
“I loved the first three books of The Darkweaver Legacy that Mark
wrote and can't wait to read the fourth. I have told all my friends
about it and they are all hooked too. (Aged 32)"
|
|
Harris Wilson (13-15) USA
“This legacy is so
awesome. I first heard about it in England from a friend when I lived
there and then I got the book. I read it, got the next one read it,
waited a few months for some friends in England to send me the third one
(couldn't find any in stores which is too bad for people in the United
States). I loved the book and would like to see further publications
set in this world. I look forward to the Chosen One and would give the
series 25/20."

"I think the last book was the best ever! The battle at the end was
spectacular and the description was amazing. I had ordered my copy
in advance to get it as soon as possible. 11/10!!!" |
|
Abi
(11-15)
"I thought that the fourth book was by far the best though the
ending was very indecisive and I think that Mark Robson should carry
on the story and just finish up with what happened to everyone after they
went back to their everyday lives. I also am anxious to see what else
he has written as I really enjoyed the Darkweaver Legacy series." |
|
Sam
(11-15)
"The Chosen One was by far the best book in the series, I didn't want
to
finish it!! I am looking forward to 'Imperial Spy'. I hope it
will be as
good as this series. Keep up the good work!!" |
|
Ellie
(16-21)
"I love your books! And thanks for signing them too! They enthrall
me every time. Thank you so much for the adventures in the long
boring summers. Looking forward to the spin-off book for the Winter
hols!" |
|
John
(11-15)
"All of the books are top class. I liked the way they were all
linked together and the way they all tied together at the end.
Following several people and focusing on different characters in all the
books is an excellent way of writing a book. The fourth was the best
having a good balance of storyline and action." |
|
Faith
(11-15)
"I think that the Darkweaver Legacy is brilliant. I can't
stop reading them over and over again!" |
|
Charlotte
(11-15)
"Once I read one I could not stop until all were read because I got
sucked into the great stories and loveable characters" |
|
Jamie
Duffus (10-12)
"I thought the Chosen One was amazing, it kicked the stuffing out of
Harry Potter. All the books in the series are top class if you ask
me and I give them a 10/10." |
|
Georgina
Ratchet (13-15)
"I love it" |
|
Daniel
Sedgwick (16-21)
"Hey! Nice set but we want more, we want to see a marriage, new
enemies for Thrandor and Shandar, more magic. Come on don't stop at
4 keep writing" |
|
Tom
Crawley (10-12)
"I bought the "Chosen One" on Tuesday and finished it
Thursday evening. It is a brilliant book and deserves 11 out of 10.
The plot is excellent and gripping and when something happens to a
character you really feel for them. This is an excellent book and I
hope that there is 5th book in the series." |
|
Hannah
Tindell (13-15)
"The Chosen One was a really great book! I had all the things
in it that a good book needs, the right suspense and everything else.
I was really excited before I read it as I had been waiting for ages for
it to come out, but when I read it I grew more and more excited until I
nearly exploded! I liked it when Calvyn and Jenna did things
together and I liked the parts that the warders played, their parts,
though serious were quite funny. Since the book came out I have been
reading and re-reading the whole set non-stop. I can't wait for more
books to come out and for the characters to go their separate ways.
I can't wait to find out what happens to them. This book deserves 5 stars!
Well done!" |
|
Laura
(21+)
"I have read the entire collection of Mark Robson, it was a gift from
my father when he visited England. Since I began the series with
"The Forging of the Sword" I have not been able to put the
books down. It is Harry Potter with a more exciting, captivating, action,
twist. I love Harry but Calvyn is way cooler and has much more power. Cant
wait till the next one." |
|
Joe
Walsh (13-15)
"The Darkweaver Legacy is a great series and I'd recommend it to
anyone. Despite it not being as big as Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings,
it's just as good, perhaps better. 'The Chosen One' is my favourite.
PLEASE Mark Robson, don't stop writing." |
|
Alex
(13-15)
"I have to say these books are the best I've ever read. I'm not much
of a reader, but these books made me a reader. I would recommend these
books to anyone and I think J.K Rowling and J.R.R. Tolkien have got some
competition." |
|
Michael
Woodroof (16-21)
"A brilliant set of books, describing an entire world in intricate
detail and never missing a piece of information. I have found no obvious
plot holes. The series has a permanent place on my bookshelf. Mark
Robson never stop writing. If you do, the world will be left with a
little less fantasy, and thats always a bad thing especially when the
fantasy is as good as yours. The Chosen One is my fave. I give them
all 10/10." |
|
Chris
(13-15)
"I think the whole series was brilliant! I was so caught up in
the books that when I went with my family to a friends house for a party,
I actually sat there and finished The Trail Of The Huntress leaving me in
anticipation of going home and buying First Sword. All in all they
were fantastic books, I would give it a rating of 15 out of 10 and I'm
praying Mark Robson will write another of his miraculous novels.
Congratulations Mark." |

Francesca (13-15)
"I loved all of the Darkweaver Legacy, I thought it was a wonderful mixture of Terry Pratchett and
J K Rowling. I just wondered whether Mark was planning on writing a 5th book, as they are just so
exciting!"
|
|
Jake (10-12)
"They are all great, interesting and enjoyable. I think that sword publishing should make a fifth book.
Thanks, bye."
|
|
Jenna (13-15)
"These books are great. I bought them from Mark at the Witney bookshop and when he came to sign my book he couldn't believe my name was actually Jenna. In my book he wrote you will really love these and I did. I have dragged 2 of my friends into reading them and they have really enjoyed them as well!! 10/ 10 great. Well done
Mark!"
|
|
Anna (13-15)
"My aunt bought the books for me. Mark was signing copies at our local bookshop. She bought the first 3 as the 4th had not yet been released. Mark signed them to me and my brother. I read the books first and highly recommended them to my brother even though he doesn't read much. He thoroughly enjoyed the books which is saying something because he doesn't usually like reading full stop. I recommend them to everyone over 10 years old the scene was set amazingly. After reading the first 3 I begged for the 4th. I have all the books signed by Mark and I really enjoyed
them!"
|
|
Luke (16-21)
"Darkweaver Legacy are easily the best books I ever read. I've read all of the Potter books and all of the Lord of the Ring books and any of the 4 of these books are better than them. I've read the set about 5 times, they are books you can keep reading again and again and are still a great read. Mark Robson I beg of you please write more books with Calvyn and Jenna in them, you can easily continue the story. It would be a disappointment if you didn't."
|
|
Graham (10-12)
"Love all the books, The Chosen One was my favourite, it was excellent. Please write more, I really want to know what happens to all of the characters after the battle with Selkor."
|
|
Steve (10-12)
"I have just finished reading the Darkweaver Legacy and they have become my favourite
books (I got the first three signed at Guilford last year). I can't wait to read the upcoming book, Imperial Spy and I'm sure that it will be well worth the wait. I think that the fourth book is my favourite, but seeing as I read them one immediately after the other, I can't remember where one ends and the other begins. I have recommended the series to my school library and after they read the first page of one of them they said they would try and get some in."
|
|
Vicky (13-15)
"All of the four books are amazing - I've never read any others quite like them. Mark Robson is the most amazing author - quite how he manages to combine elements of magic, sorcery, war, the military and love in the same books, and have them create a very successful effect is beyond me. I'm very surprised that he is not much more widely known than he is.
Everyone should be encouraged to read his books. Hope there'll be some more!"
|
|
Lini (13-15)
"One of my friends told me that these books were great. But I didn't like the type of books she read so I decided not to read it. Later I met Mark Robson in the bookshop I went to and bought his first book. I read and loved it. The fact that it was runes and not magical words made me love it even more, it was so original, so I bought the rest of the books and loved those too."
